Blog post 2: Importance of the basketball

My bruised fingertip recovered in a couple of days so I was able to go back to the gym and practice my jump shots. However, before I do that, there was something that I needed to do. I bought my old basketball about half a year ago, and to be honest, I haven't completely taken good care of it. I've used the basketball on a cement court on multiple occasions(even though it was an indoor ball), and I also left the ball out in the rain one day. As a result of this, my ball has lost almost all its grip, and it's color. The grip on a ball is very important when shooting jump shots. Without a good grip, the ball is likely to slip off the finger during shooting. It is also very difficult to navigate the ball when the ball is slippery. I found out that there were different kinds of sprays and appliances I could use on the ball to enhance the grip. However, I figured it would be easier to just go buy a ball. On Saturday, I met up with a  friend, and headed to Sports Authority. At first, I wanted to buy an official NBA game ball, but after searching around on the internet, I found out that the official game ball costs around $150. Clearly, I couldn't afford that so I ended up buying Wilson Evolution Basketball (around $50), which was still a very decent ball.
